Business Intelligence Hyperion Essbase Developer
Position Summary
Tailored Brands is seeking a Business Intelligence Hyperion Essbase Developer who will be responsible for leading initiatives to create, develop, maintain, support and document systems, processes and reporting using Hyperion Suite of applications. Essbase experience required; Hyperion Planning & HFM experience preferred.
Key Accountabilities
• Analyze business problems, issues and opportunities across the organization.
• Translate business problems and opportunities into plans of action including scope and delivery strategy.
• Design, deploy, and manage database administration using Hyperion Essbase (System 11.x)
• Facilitate design sessions for business process or systems analysis
• Assist in requirements analysis, including documenting current and future state business processes, and analyzing their interaction and interdependencies to support process design.
• Analyze business and IT issues, including process inefficiencies and systems problems.
• Assess the impact of changes to current business processes and systems.
• Drive all phases of the project life cycle, from requirements gathering through to successful implementation, maintenance and support.
• Understand of financial processes.
• Able to work with users in the finance and IT community to collaboratively evaluate solutions and alternatives.
• Assist the activities of other systems developers and financial analysts.
• Liaise with users to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations.
• Write calculation scripts, MAXL Scripts, and business rules.
• Create Excel/VBA templates to read/write against the Essbase database.

Skills/Abilities/Experience & Qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, MIS or related field required
• 8 + years Hyperion Essbase (System 11.x) and 4+ years Hyperion Planning
• Oracle/Hyperion reporting products (Web Analysis, Financial Reports, OBIEE, Smartview for Office, Excel Add-In)
• Requires experience in a highly dynamic environment with high service level expectations.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Oracle Relational Database, DRM, ODI, HFM
• Able to write simple queries using SQL to retrieve data from Teradata and Snowflake for dataload in Essbase
• Experience with Hyperion Planning (System 9.x/11.x) in the areas of design, deployment, and administration preferred.
• Experience in building dimensions using Load Rules File, Load data using Rules files, two pass calculations, defining UDA's, specifying dimensions like Account dimension, Time dimension, Attribute Dimension as per the requirements.
• Experience with other Oracle/Hyperion reporting products is needed (Web Analysis, Financial Reports, OBIEE, Smartview for Office, Excel Add-In).
• Database experience using Oracle (SQL Plus, TOAD) is REQUIRED.
• Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM), ODI and FDQM preferred.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and projects with varying deadlines
• Ability to prioritize with minimal supervision and interact with employees at all levels
• Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements
• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
• Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
• Hours regularly exceed 40 hours per week
