About the Job
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an
What You’ll Do | Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with head designer, including research, business strategy, sketching, and sample development
- Assist in preparing of all design meetings with teams to adhere to calendar dates
- Prepare any and all presentation and inspiration boards to convey ideas and concepts each season
- Maintain all board materials needed for core and seasonal for presentation purposes
- Work with design team to photograph and provide digital presentations when needed
- Create line sheets and meet product development time line each season
- Maintain an organized workspace in addition to common areas outside of design space
- Ensure organization of fabric and trim qualities are met for bulk stage
- Update PLM with materials and sketch details
- Assist with market research as it pertains to product category
- Participate in design meetings and work with cross functional partners: Tech Design, PD, Production, Buyers
- Adhere to corporate design calendar
- Assist in Handloom and bulk production approvals
- Assist with tech pack creation
- Participate in fittings
- Support Sr. Design Director on design-based projects and business initiatives as they arise
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or related field
- Related design experience preferred
- Must be able and willing to work out of NY office 3-4 times/week or as needed
- Proficient in sketching, tech packs, Photoshop, Illustrator, Adobe, PLM
- Strong organizational skills, fabric archiving
- Knowledge of Woven fabric construction a plus inclusive of yarn dye textile, print and color
- Ability to adhere to calendar deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Can do attitude, team player with proactive mindset
Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands
- Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis
- Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment
- Hours regularly 40 hours per week
