Senior Backup Administrator

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience designing building and maintaining Storage and data protection technologies
• 12+ years of experience working as a Linux or Windows administrator
• Experience with Veritas Netbackup or similar enterprise backup solutions including duplication appliances, applications and tape systems
• Experienced in implementing and maintaining a broad range of technologies used to backup and protect data in an enterprise class environment
• Experience with business continuity/disaster recovery process, creating and maintaining disaster recovery documentation, configuration details and software necessary for recovery.
• Expertise of SAN systems as it relates to the backup, replication and protection of data
• Experience building data protection solutions using the Netbackup, Veeam, Recover Point and Quantum is preferred but similar experience with other Tier 1 vendor technologies will be considered.
• Ability to write scripts to automate processes
• Has worked in an enterprise environment in excess of 500 servers
• Advanced knowledge in either Red Hat Linux or Windows administration
• Experience in a VMWare ESX environment is a must
• Database protection experience is a must
• Experience with automation tools like Ansible or Puppet is a plus
• Ability to work independently on projects and duties without constant supervision.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to work across all aspects of the business levels of the organization and outside contacts
• Authorized to work for any employer in the United States
• Ability to pass a thorough background check
  

Work Environment, Physical & Mental Demands:

• Ability to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time

• Ability to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis

• Must utilize visual acuity, speech and hearing, hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate a computer and office equipment

• As work needs dictate, ability to work at least 40 hours per week from the Company’s Houston, Texas corporate office

• Able to lift and move up to 10 pounds occasionally
